From 19-22nd September 2025, the city of Taichung in Taiwan held the 1st World Bird Fair. There were 120 booths consists of tour operators, bird conservation NGOs, optics (binoculars & monocular) producers, camera companies, and also government institutions. The participants were coming from 30 countries from all continent; Asia, Africa, Australia, America, and Europe.

For 2 days we have the exhibition and 1 day for birding excursion. It was so much fun. The attendees also not only Taiwanese, many foreigners who happened to live in Taiwan also coming to this Bird Fair.

Besides the booths, the organizer also offer dances and other performances to see. In a special tent, there are also presentations about birds and its conservations efforts from many countries. As for us tour operators, we have so much discussion and opens up collaboration opportunities. So this bird fair was a successful one.

Within this opportunity, Birding Indonesia as the official distributor of Optisan optics in Indonesia was also invited by Optisan Optics to join the pre-birding tour. Together with other distributors from Bhutan, Philippine, Malaysia, and Taiwan, we went to several birding spots in Taiwan and managed to get 74 species and 13 Taiwan endemics during 1 and half day of birding.

The next World Bird Fair planned to be held in Colombia in 2027. Hopefully, Birding Indonesia will be there too.
